Yobe State governorship aspirant for the 2027 elections, Barrister Kashim Musa Tumsah, has pledged to expand his humanitarian and development interventions across communities in the state in 2026.

Tumsah, popularly known as KMT, is a development advocate whose humanitarian work spans over two decades. His recent declaration to run for the governorship followed growing calls from groups, associations, and individuals across the state who commended his long-standing contributions, particularly in rural areas.

Speaking in Damaturu while accompanying Governor Mai Mala Buni to present the 2026 appropriation bill to the State House of Assembly, Tumsah assured that his initiatives would be scaled up next year, with a special focus on improving access to quality education for underprivileged children and strengthening empowerment programmes for women and youths.

“I have always shared my concerns about the growth and development of Yobe, and I have come to realise that interventions in education and empowerment are key. These, I have pursued over the years, and I thank God that many people are now reaping the benefits,” he said.

Addressing hundreds of supporters and admirers, Tumsah praised the state government’s ongoing development drive, noting that the strategic and prudent management of governance under Governor Buni has created new opportunities for investment and employment.

The aspirant, who intends to contest under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), reiterated his commitment to building on the state’s progress and making Yobe a model in growth, investment, education, empowerment, security, and healthcare.
