TGNews has organized its maiden awards, with the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Kashere (FUK) billed to deliver a paper on media and national security in Gombe.

A statement by the chairman publicity sub-committee, Mohammed Ismail, said the event scheduled to hold on January 6, 2024, is meant to recognize and reward, merit, excellence, talent dedication, and exceptional service delivery.

Pate, the traditional title holder of Kaigamman Adamawa, will also be conferred with a merit award at the occasion.

The statement said that the theme of the event, “media and national security; the way forward” is deliberately chosen in view of the need to broaden conversations on the portents of social media on national security with a view to chart a way forward.

‘’Top politicians, technocrats, traditional, religious leaders and even ordinary Nigerians will be given the award in view of their contributions to nation building and national security.

“The award which is classified into four distinct categories will serve as a morale booster for individuals to strive for excellence knowing that such strides are being noted and recorded.

“The four categories for the award include; award for excellence in leadership, meritorious service award, award for dedication and quality service, and unsung heroes award,” he said.

According to Ismail, TGNews which started operations eight years ago has blazed the trail in the areas of providing factual and investigative news reportage, has made it one of the most viable sources of news and reports not only in Adamawa State but the northeast and Nigeria in general.

He noted that the news portal is currently repositioning itself to be a formidable force in multimedia operations that will compete favorably with other multimedia outlets across the globe.
