The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Sokoto State, Manir Muhammad Dan’iya (Walin Sokoto), has congratulated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on his emergence as the ADC’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dan’iya described Atiku’s emergence as a major milestone for the party and a significant step toward repositioning Nigeria for economic growth, national unity, peace, and sustainable development.

In a statement issued through his media aide, Aminu Abdullahi, the ADC candidate praised Atiku for his longstanding commitment to democracy, national development, economic reform, and inclusive governance.

“Alhaji Atiku Abubakar remains one of Nigeria’s most experienced political leaders, with a clear understanding of governance, economic transformation, and nation-building. His emergence as the ADC presidential candidate has further strengthened the confidence of millions of Nigerians who desire competent, people‑oriented leadership,” Dan’iya said.

He added that under Atiku’s leadership, the ADC is determined to place Nigeria on a path to prosperity, stability, and global relevance through policies prioritizing economic recovery, youth empowerment, education, security, infrastructure, healthcare delivery, and social welfare.

Dan’iya noted that Nigerians are yearning for purposeful leadership capable of addressing socio‑economic challenges such as insecurity, unemployment, inflation, poverty, and declining public confidence in governance.

“The ADC is committed to building a Nigeria where citizens can live in peace, pursue their aspirations freely, and benefit from responsible governance. Our vision is to restore hope, strengthen democratic institutions, create opportunities for youth, and position Nigeria among the world’s leading nations,” he said.

He called on Nigerians across religious, ethnic, and political divides to support the ADC in the 2027 elections, saying national progress requires unity, active participation, and collective commitment to democratic change.

Dan’iya assured the party’s presidential candidate of his unwavering loyalty and support for the ADC’s progress at both state and national levels.

He also commended Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for his leadership, political maturity, and strategic contributions to the ADC coalition movement, saying Tambuwal’s experience and commitment to democratic values have strengthened opposition collaboration and promoted a united front capable of delivering credible leadership.

Dan’iya expressed confidence that the ADC coalition will gain wider acceptance nationwide as Nigerians prepare for a new chapter of inclusive governance and national renewal. He prayed for divine guidance, wisdom, and success for ADC leaders at all levels as the party intensifies efforts to provide a better future for all Nigerians.
