In contrast, their challenger, Abdallah Wapah, seems to face an uphill battle…
The story should have ended in triumph, but it didn’t. A 13-year-old boy, kidnapped in Imo State while fetching grass for his goats, managed to slip away from his captors in Anambra when they fell asleep. Alone, frightened, but determined, he found safety. The community rejoiced; his family wept with relief. Yet, within hours, what should have been a quiet, dignified reunion turned into a second ordeal. The Anambra State Police Command, as reported in different newspapers and other media outlets, authorised the public release of the boy’s full name, photographs, and identifying details. Multiple media outlets published them—online, on…
The Sokoto State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration of weaponizing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to target opposition leaders, following the arrest of former governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal. Tambuwal, now a senator, was detained in Abuja last Monday over alleged N189 billion in irregular withdrawals during his eight years as governor. The PDP dismissed the case as “an old phantom” revived for political reasons, describing it as part of a wider crackdown on dissent. Publicity Secretary Hassan Sahabi Sanyinnawal said the EFCC’s “selective and discriminatory” investigations show the APC-led…
