“When you are talking about vote buying, this is the vote buying; we are using our work for the people to support us. So, people should not bother themselves that people will carry money. We have used Ahoada dualisation and others,” Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike said during the commissioning of the dualised Ahoada-Omoku road in the Ahoada East local government area of the state on Wednesday.

ASHENEWS reports the governor also saying that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state is not bothered about the concept of enticing voters with money.

According to him, the projects executed by his administration were enough to ‘buy’ the votes of the electorate in the 2023 general elections.

He urged the people of the area to remain steadfast with his administration which has recognised them more than any other in the state.

The governor also warned against the encroachment into government right of way by property developers.

He, thereafter, announced the award of the construction of the second phase of the road which is not less than 18km to Omoku, an oil and gas hub of the state, before he commissioned the completed first phase of about 6.2km.
