Sokoto APC accuses PDP of recycling old videos to undermine Aliyu’s administration

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of circulating outdated video clips and reports in a bid to discredit Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration.

In a statement on Monday, the APC described the move as a “deliberate and mischievous campaign” by a “desperate opposition” trying to mislead the public with recycled materials from over eight years ago.

“These outdated clips are being paraded as fresh evidence of supposed PDP performance,” the party said. “It is a futile attempt to tarnish the image of Governor Ahmed Aliyu and our leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.”

The APC dismissed the materials as “lies and distortions,” adding that the PDP’s motive is to distract from Governor Aliyu’s “visible achievements” in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and rural development.

The party also rebutted PDP claims about projects such as the Asari Water Scheme, Kalambaina and Gidan Salenke housing estates, and several educational institutions, insisting these were initiated and mostly completed under Wamakko’s administration, not the PDP’s.

“The PDP’s propaganda is built on deceit and failed promises,” the statement added. “Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s performance in less than two years already overshadows their eight years of unfulfilled expectations.”

Reaffirming its focus on governance, the APC urged citizens to ignore “cheap blackmail” and remain vigilant against falsehoods.
