President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Armed Forces, security, and intelligence agencies to harmonize their operations and adopt a whole-of-society approach in combating Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.

Represented by the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, President Tinubu gave the directive at the opening session of the Chief of Defence Staff Joint Task Force Commanders’ Conference at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

Commending the Armed Forces for their dedication and sacrifice, Tinubu emphasized the need for joint security operational effectiveness to address emerging threats. He noted that the theme of this year’s conference, “Enhancing Jointness Across All Theatres of Operations,” aligns with his administration’s vision for a safer Nigeria.

“This forum is both timely and necessary, given our ever-evolving security landscape. We must harmonize efforts and adopt proactive, innovative strategies to tackle security threats decisively,” he stated.

He stressed that collaboration between the military, police, intelligence agencies, and other security organizations is essential for maximizing operational efficiency.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting security forces, Tinubu urged the agencies to: Continuously re-evaluate security strategies, Integrate emerging technologies, and strengthen inter-agency cooperation.

“I urge you to fully explore the concept of jointness, harness the power of technology, and work together to ensure multi-agency synergy. This will enable the Armed Forces to remain agile, adaptable, and capable of operating at peak performance,” he emphasized.

The President expressed gratitude to the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, and all personnel for their efforts in organizing the conference.

He reiterated his government’s unwavering support for Nigeria’s security forces and wished participants fruitful deliberations, expressing confidence that the conference outcomes would help strengthen the country’s security framework.
