The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, paid an operational visit to Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, where he met with troops of the Nigerian Army at Dukku Barracks on Thursday, 8 May 2025. The visit aimed to assess the progress of ongoing military operations in the state and boost the morale of gallant soldiers by encouraging a stronger fighting spirit to end the menace of insecurity in Nigeria, particularly in the North West.

While addressing the troops, the Minister conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s deep appreciation for their efforts and achievements in ensuring peace across the nation, especially through ongoing operations against banditry and other criminal activities. He commended the troops for their professional competence, courage, and sacrifice, adding that both the President and the nation are profoundly grateful for their unwavering commitment.

The Minister urged the troops to redouble their efforts to eliminate all forms of insecurity across the country. He declared, “It is time to finish all aspects of insecurity,” and then asked, “Are you ready to end it?” to which the troops responded with a resounding, “Yes! Sir!”

Encouraged by their unified response, the Minister expressed confidence that the situation would soon be brought under control, allowing citizens to go about their legitimate activities without fear. He reiterated the government’s appreciation for the troops’ steadfastness and reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing their welfare and operational support.
