At the heart of Zaria, lie six gates that serve as guardians of the past and tell a story of their own. Each of these gates – Kibo Gate, Jatau Gate, Kuyan Bana Gate, Gayan Gate, Kona Gate, and Galadima Gate – holds a unique narrative that is woven into the fabric of the city’s history. These gates stand as testaments to the bygone eras that shaped Zaria into the bustling city it is today.

The families of the abducted children are living through a nightmare, unable to sleep as they anxiously await any news of their loved ones. The harrowing reports of the conditions faced by the kidnapped children, including a lack of food, only add to the distress and anguish experienced by the families. The scale of the kidnapping in Kuriga is unprecedented, with almost every household in the town affected by the abduction of a child.

A yearly celebration in which both the young and the old take part. It is customary to cook, eat, dance and recite the Holy Qur’an, and after that, ask God for fruitful harvest and a prosperous community for the coming year. Majority of the people are farmers who are proud of what they do. However, this year’s celebration turned into one that they won’t forget in a hurry.
