At the helm, President Tinubu’s frequent travels abroad have raised questions about his priorities and effectiveness as a leader. Tinubu, our esteemed leader, has been jetting off around the world more times than we can count, leaving many of us wondering – is he simply collecting stamps on his passport or actually doing anything productive?

Nigeria, oh Nigeria, where shall we begin? Nigeria, a country blessed with abundant resources and immense potential, finds itself grappling with a myriad of challenges that continue to hinder its progress. Corruption, poverty, and now a cost-of-living crisis have become everyday realities for many Nigerians.
Nigeria has been facing one of its worst cost-of-living crises in decades. Prices of essential goods and services have skyrocketed, making it increasingly difficult for the average Nigerian to make ends meet. The situation has led to widespread hardship and anger, with many questioning the government’s ability to address the issue effectively.
And amidst this chaos, President Tinubu has been gallivanting across the globe, racking up air miles like it’s nobody’s business. His frequent trips abroad have not gone unnoticed, with critics slamming him for his extravagant travel habits.
The most recent incident that sparked outrage was the government-sponsored trip to the COP28 climate conference in Dubai, where over 400 people were flown out on the taxpayer’s dime. Bravo, Mr. President, for showing your commitment to combating climate change by adding to your carbon footprint in the most extravagant way possible.
But wait, there’s more! Since taking office in May 2023, President Tinubu has managed to fit in more than 15 foreign trips. That’s right, 15 trips in less than a year – talk about frequent flyer miles. And the cherry on top? The president is said to have spent a whopping 3.4 billion naira on domestic and foreign travel in just six months, exceeding the budgeted amount for the entire year. It seems like the sky’s the limit when it comes to presidential travel expenses.
But fear not, dear citizens of Nigeria, for our president is surely working tirelessly to address the issues facing our nation. Or maybe he’s just racking up stamps on his passport and enjoying the high life at our expense. Who’s to say? As we struggle to put food on the table and make ends meet, it’s reassuring to know that our leader is out there, somewhere, making us proud with his frequent flyer lifestyle.
So let us raise a toast to President Tinubu, the jet-setting leader of the people, who shows us that in times of crisis, a little vacation is all you need to forget about the cost of living. Here’s to many more trips, Mr. President, may your passport never go unstamped and your travel expenses never run dry. Nigeria, we salute you.
