This assurance was given by the State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, during a courtesy visit by the Governing Council of Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi.
Governor Idris, represented by his Deputy, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, emphasized the Governor’s strong commitment to education, highlighting his background as a former teacher.
He underscored the importance of education as a cornerstone for success and societal development. “Our administration is committed to supporting the University in achieving its core mandate.

“The Government stands ready to provide the necessary support to move the University forward,” he stated.
Governor Idris also recognized the strong relationship between the University and the State Government, announcing that directives had been issued to expedite the certification of the University’s land through the Commissioner and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Lands.
Earlier, the Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of FUBK’s Governing Council, Abubakar Jatau, expressed gratitude on behalf of the University for the consistent support from the State Government.
He noted the significant contributions of the Government, including the donation of the land on which the University is built and an additional vast area of land, for which certification is still pending.
“We are deeply appreciative of the Kebbi State Government’s assistance since the University’s inception. We are particularly grateful for the land provided and urge the Government to expedite the certification process,” he said.
The Pro-Chancellor also commended the state’s achievements in the education sector and encouraged other states to follow Kebbi State’s example.
