The Kano State House of Assembly has passed the state’s ₦437.3 billion 2024 budget.

This followed the adoption of the report of the House Committee on Appropriation at plenary on Wednesday.

The presentation paved the way for the third reading and the passage of the budget.

The speaker directed the Clerk of the House, to produce a copy of the 2024 budget for onward submission to Gov. Abba Yusuf for his assent.

The majority leader of the house, Lawan Hussaini (NNPP-Dala), shortly after the plenary, said that the budget would facilitate numerous developmental projects for the benefit of the state

“Out of the budget, 67 per cent was allocated for capital project, while 33 per cent was for recurrent expenditure.

He said that education got the lion share of 30 per cent followed by health and infrastructure.

Yusuf had on October 27 presented the budget tagged: “Budget of transformation and consolidation”, to the House for approval.
