THESTORIES reports that the Hama Batta, Humon Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke of the Batta kingdom of Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State has lauded the contributions of women in ensuring peaceful coexistence and strengthening family values.
The monarch, in a message to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD), noted that women make unmeasurable contributions to the promotion of peaceful coexistence, enhancing family values and economic development.
The statement signed by the spokesperson to the Humon Batta, Ladi Bala, said that the monarch used the occasion of International Women’s Day to appeal to sons and daughters as well as traditional title holders in the area to increase their investment in women in the areas of education and entrepreneurship.
This, he said will allow for societal transformation and development.
The monarch therefore urged stakeholders to reflect on the importance of a gender responsive and inclusive society.
The monarch equally called for urgent action to address the menace of out-of-school children.
According to him, funding for education should be treated as a corporate responsibility to humanity, not government alone.
