Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has announced a new round of high-level appointments into key government institutions.

According to a statement signed by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the appointments are aimed at enhancing institutional performance and aligning with the administration’s development agenda.

The list of newly appointed officials includes:

  • Dr. Bashir A. Muzakkar as Director General, Kano State Information & Communication Technologies Development Agency (KASITDA). Dr. Muzakkar, formerly Special Adviser on Digital and Creative Economy, is expected to lead the state’s drive in the ICT sector.
  • Kabiru Saidu Dakata as Director General, Kano State Advert & Signage Agency (KASA), bringing renewed oversight to signage regulation and public advertisement.
  • Dr. Fatima Abdul Abubakar (Amneef) as Director General, Kano State Social Protection Agency (KASPA). Until now, she served as Special Adviser on Enlightenment and Social Mobilization.
  • Engr. Isyaku Umar Kwa as Deputy Managing Director, Kano State Housing Corporation, tasked with supporting affordable housing development across the state.
  • Hamisu Musa Gambo Danzaki as Executive Secretary, Kano State Scholarship Board, where he is expected to improve access to educational opportunities for indigent students.
  • Barr. Isma’il Nasarawa as Provost of the Anti-Corruption Institute, a key agency in the state’s anti-graft efforts.
  • Mohammed Bello Maigaskiya as Commandant of the Corporate Security Institute, a move to enhance public-private security collaboration.

Governor Yusuf expressed confidence in the appointees’ capacity to deliver, noting that their professional backgrounds and previous service to the state made them well suited for the new roles.

“These appointments are part of our broader effort to reposition Kano’s public institutions for efficiency, innovation, and inclusiveness. I am confident these individuals will justify the trust reposed in them,” the statement added.

The appointments take immediate effect.
