The Emir of Kaura Namoda, retired Major Sanusi Mohammed has observed that the establishment of the state Community Protection Guards (CPG), nicknamed ‘AskarawA’, will augment the efforts of security agencies in curbing the menace of banditry in Zamfara state.
Mohammed also commended Governor Dauda Lawal for keeping his campaign promises as well as the initiatives he had introduced to develop the state.
The Emir made the remarks during the distribution of fertilizer, tillers and other farm inputs to dry season farmers by the governor in Kaura Namoda on Sunday.
He also commended Lawal for allocating ₦350 million for the total renovation of General Hospital Kaura Namoda and over ₦200 million for the construction of Women Development Center, and his pledge to renovate the Emir’s Palace.
He noted that there was an ongoing overhauling of Kaura Namoda Dam and provision of an irrigation farming site which, according to him, will in no small measure improve food security of the state and beyond.
The monarch also recognized the effort of the governor in revamping farming activities, which he said the state’s slogan is “Zamfara State farming is our pride” he therefore urged farmers to actively support the government’s initiatives aimed at restoring the lost glory of farming in the region.
Like Oliver Twist, the Emir solicited for the timely approval of the governor for the take off of Zamfara State College of Legal and Islamic Studies, Kaura Namoda.
