The Coalition of APC Support Groups in Sokoto State has reaffirmed its loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared its readiness to mobilise support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing a news conference on Thursday in Sokoto, the leader of the coalition, Jamilu Suleiman, said the group remained committed to ensuring the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sokoto State Governor, Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.

“We are indeed committed to the task of ensuring and actualising the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Sokoto State, Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, through any possible means,” he said.

The coalition, however, raised concerns over the operations of the City Boy Movement (CBM) in Sokoto State.

It called on the national leadership of the movement to intervene, alleging that the state currently has no active and effective CBM structure.

Suleiman accused the state director of the City Boy Movement in Sokoto of poor leadership and listed 10 grounds for seeking his immediate replacement.

Key among the reasons, he said, were alleged insubordination to party leadership, lack of grassroots mobilisation, weak youth engagement, disregard for party structures and poor presence across the state.

“We demand that the national leadership collaborate with concerned youth leaders and stakeholders to appoint a committed and loyal party personality to take charge of the state CBM, alongside committed executive members, to run its affairs judiciously and successfully, as is the case in other states,” Suleiman stated.

The coalition pledged its unflinching support for the APC leadership in the state, particularly Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, and vowed to work for the party’s victory in 2027.

The press conference was attended by leaders of various APC support groups from across the 23 local government areas of the state.

All efforts to obtain a reaction from the concerned director, Mas’udu Musa Bashar, were unsuccessful, as his telephone was switched off.
