Hassan Ghazaly, founder of the Pan-African media and journalism initiative, Afromedia, has extended his sincere congratulations to the editorial team of Cairo 24, particularly its Editor-in-Chief, journalist Mahmoud El-Mamlouk, on the occasion of the platform receiving the “Best Website in the Middle East” award during the Trend Awards ceremony.
Ghazaly noted that this achievement reflects the strong professional and media reputation that Cairo 24 has successfully established within just a few years, both in Egypt and across the African continent.
He stated that the recognition of Cairo 24 highlights its position as an influential media platform at both the national and continental levels, capable of combining speed, accuracy, and credibility in news reporting. He also commended the platform’s role in covering regional and international affairs, particularly issues concerning the African continent and its people.
Ghazaly described the award as a testament to the important role Egyptian media institutions can play in supporting development issues across Africa, amplifying the voices of its people, and shedding light on the challenges and opportunities facing the continent. He emphasized that such efforts help strengthen cooperation and media integration among African nations.
He further noted that this recognition places greater responsibility on leading media institutions to continue producing professional content that enhances public awareness, supports justice and development initiatives, and strengthens Africa’s presence in regional and international media coverage.
Ghazaly wished Cairo 24 continued success and prosperity, as well as greater distinction and leadership in the media landscape. He also praised the contributions of Mahmoud El-Mamlouk, particularly his efforts in providing free training opportunities for African journalists and media professionals through the Afromedia initiative.
Founded in 2021 under the slogan “Voice of Egypt, Voice of Africa,” Afromedia serves as a media communication bridge among the peoples of the African continent. The initiative was established to develop the journalistic and media skills of African journalists and media professionals, while fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing across Africa’s media sector.
