United States and subservient subordinates, By Tola Adeniyi

A country in the Americas, to wit, North America, which has appropriated the name of the entire continents of North America and South America to itself glorifies in calling itself the policeman of the world. And with the programmed sellout of the hitherto impregnable Soviet Union by Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev, it began to pride itself as the unquestionable unipolar. That country is the United States of America. A country derisively called Britain 2, the US is a master in the creation and deployment of the politics of language.

Probably an inheritance from its mother, the Anglo-Saxon, the United States’ English derives immense pleasure from calling a spade, not by its name, but by any other name that would suit its purpose at a particular time. Thus you have a litany of words for something as simple and straightforward as stealing being clothed in several layers of deceptive words: corruption, sleaze, money laundry, and misappropriation, budget padding, heist, filch, embezzle, commandeer, swipe, hijack, plagiarize and purloin

I have Wikipedia and history sources to confirm that up to 2016 only two US presidents had no ancestry to British Isles: Martin [Marten] Van Buren [Dutch] and Dwight D Eisenhower [German]. One may add Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin Delano Roosevelt who were both Dutch, Barack Obama, Kenyan, and Donald trump a German.

The thrust of this piece is the extensive use of the politics of language especially in the political arena to deceive the world. I have written seminal papers on Politics of Language published in journals and newspapers across the world which can be accessed through any search engine.

However, this article is about the use of the word ‘ally’ which flies out of the lips of the US and several of its equally dubious partners/cousins in Europe.

Anytime the US engages in its usual belligerent and provocative escapades across the globe, it will announce to the world that it is doing so with its ‘allies’. And these ‘allies’ may include countries as tiny and ineffective as Luxembourg or some very poverty-stricken tiny islands that could hardly be identified on the world map.

What we are seeing today and which we had always encountered are countries whose leaderships have been bullied or blackmailed into submission. We are talking of countries which receive close to 90 percent of their yearly budget from the massively printed US Dollars. Funny enough, the currency which is not backed with any gold or any material matter is branded in the exercise of politics of language as ‘hard currency’! You may ask which currency is cast in iron and the one that is toilet paper.

We should puncture these lies which had existed for decades. The United States of America does NOT have allies. An ally is supposed to be a partner, a cooperative friend. But when you have ‘allies’ who cannot vote against you in an Assembly, who cannot hold contrary opinion, whose countries must, without a whimper, swallow hook, line and sinker the perverse and immoral policies of forced down their throat, those are not ‘allies’ but subservient subordinates.

Except the state of Israel which to all and intents and purposes is a military outpost for the United States and its ‘allies’ in Europe, there does not exist any country associated with the US which qualifies to be called an ally. And paradoxically, Israel, by its posturing does not appear to be an ally but a master of the US, which must be obeyed at all times. Israel leads and the US and its subordinates follow. That is the reality of the current geo-politics.

This anomaly also applies to the United Nations. The United Nations right from inception sold a dummy to the world that it was set up as the assemblage of all nations where democratic norms would be the mantra. It inserted the questionable but very dubious power of Veto allocated to five countries; Britain, France, China, USSR and the US!!! Which meant and still means, regardless of the decision of all the member nations on any issue, any of the five Veto powers can torpedo it. What kind of Union is that?

And the world has accommodated this brazen disregard for ‘equality of nations’ clause of the Union as conceived by its founding fathers. An organization where your vote is vetoed!

What obtains in the toothless bulldog called United Nations today is a helpless and hapless organization of no consequence. It is an Assembly of nations pulled apart and dominated by powerful members and their ‘see-nothing-and-hear-nothing’ subservient subordinates.

So sad for world peace, sanity and humanity.
