Former governor of Sokoto State and current Senator representing Sokoto North, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has distributed thousands of economic support items to his constituents.

The program, held at his residence in Sokoto, saw beneficiaries receive 1,000 motorcycles, 10,000 bags of 50kg rice, sewing machines, and water-pumping machines.

The distribution covered residents of Silame, Tangaza, Gudu, and Binji Local Government Areas, marking one of the largest interventions in recent years.

Senator Wamakko said the gesture was aimed at easing the economic hardship faced by ordinary citizens while creating sustainable means of livelihood.

Leaders and stakeholders present at the event praised the initiative as a continuation of Wamakko’s legacy of grassroots empowerment.

The Sokoto APC Youth Leader, Nasiru Italy, described the Senator as a politician whose reach goes beyond his senatorial zone, stressing that his “commitment to the economic empowerment of his people is unwavering.”

The Deputy Speaker of the Sokoto House of Assembly, Kabiru Ibrahim Kware, lauded Wamakko’s generosity, noting that it transcends politics and serves as a lifeline to the poor and vulnerable.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude, saying the motorcycles, food supplies, and work tools would transform their daily lives through income generation and household relief.

With this large-scale empowerment drive, Wamakko has once again reinforced his image as a leader deeply connected to the people and committed to uplifting communities at the grassroots level.
