Former Minister of Communications, Retired Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju, has congratulated the former Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, on the chieftaincy title of the Gbobaniyi of Ijebu Land conferred on him by the Awujale of Ijebu Land, Oba Sikiru Adetona.

The Awujale conferred the title on El-Rufai, who is also a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Saturday December 16, 2023.

“It is a well-deserved title for a good friend, a highly qualified, educated, straightforward Nigerian political elite, who speaks truth to power at all critical times.

“This is a reflection of your efficient stewardship to the people of your state you served with strength, loyalty, confidence, commitment, and sense of duty.

“I congratulate you for this memorable installation as Gbobaniyi of Ijebu Land. This is the beginning of a cultural landmark achievement outside the state of your birth,” Retired Major General Tajudeen Olanrewaju, a former General Officer Commanding (GOC), Third Armoured Division of the Nigerian Army, on behalf of himself and family, congratulated the brand new Ijebu chief, his friend of many years standing,” General Olanrewaju said in his message.
