The Northern Awareness Network (NAN) has condemned what it describes as a campaign of misinformation aimed at sowing discord between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. The group reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Vice President, describing him as a loyal and dedicated deputy committed to national unity and progress.

In a statement signed by Suleiman Abdul, Chairman of NAN’s Board of Trustees, the group criticized “mischief mongers” behind recent rumors alleging a strained relationship between the President and his Vice. NAN called on Nigerians, especially those in leadership, to rise above divisive rhetoric and focus on fostering unity.

“Vice President Kashim Shettima is a loyal and humble leader who reflects the values and traditions of the North. His consistent support for President Tinubu demonstrates his dedication to national service,” the statement read.

NAN lauded both President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima for swiftly debunking the fictitious reports, noting that their prompt response was crucial in calming public anxiety and reinforcing the integrity of the Presidency.

“The North will not succumb to dirty political games. We are a region known for our resilience and solidarity, and we will resist any attempts to fracture our unity,” NAN said.

The organization called on stakeholders and political actors across the country to promote truth and integrity in political discourse and to reject efforts aimed at undermining the harmony within the Presidency.
