Mrs Lami Fintiri, wife of Adamawa state governor on Friday, disbursed N5million in empowerment grants no fewer than 500 women in Michika local government area of the state.

The governor’s wife, during the presentation of the grants to the beneficiaries in Miichika , said that the gesture was an initiative of her pet project, “The Fresh Air Profile Empowerment Foundation”.

She said each of the beneficiaries recieved the sum of N10,000 to enable them boost their small scale businesses and achieve self-sustainability.

Fintiri said the scope of the initiative would be expanded to accommodate more beneficiaries.

She however, urged the beneficiaries to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) to enable them cast their votes in the forthcoming general elections.

“I urge you to give my husband  Governor Ahmadu Fintiri the second chance to enable him consolidate on the earlier gains recorded, especially in youth empowerment, security, education, health and infrastructure,” she said.

According to her, the Fintiri administration has impacted the lives of women, especially petty traders with different empowerment initiatives.

The council chairman of Michika local government, Mr. Amos Dirimbi commended the governor’s wife for the programme, saying it would go a long way in sustaining the businesses of the beneficiaries.

He assured that the people of the area would continue to support the policies and programmes of the state government.

Maimuna Michika, a beneficiary described the gesture as commendable and assured that they would make judicious use of the grant to promote their businesses.
