Former Jigawa State Governor and current Nigeria Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, fulfilled his civic responsibility on Saturday by casting his vote during the Jigawa State local government council election. The vote took place at his Babura Kofar Arewa polling unit in Babura Local Government Area.

Accompanied by his family, supporters, and well-wishers, Badaru, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State, cast his ballot for the APC, showing strong support for the party’s candidates in the election.

The local government election, organized by the Jigawa State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC), was held across the state on Saturday, October 5, 2024. The election saw widespread participation as residents headed to the polls to elect their council leaders, an important process for grassroots governance in the state.

In a brief interaction with the media, Badaru expressed confidence in the democratic process and commended the efforts of the electoral body for ensuring a smooth and peaceful election. He also encouraged residents to come out in large numbers to exercise their rights, emphasizing the importance of local government leadership in driving development at the grassroots level.
