Lagos is set to host an exciting gathering of music business leaders, celebrities, and creative industry professionals from around the world as the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) partners with BridgeAfric and UNESCO for the Showbiz101 Global Workshop and Music Creation Camp.
Scheduled from March 26 to 29, 2025, the event aims to train young creatives, promote international collaborations, and enhance the skills of music professionals across the production and business value chain.
Adenrele Niyi, AFRIMA’s Chief Experience Officer (CXO), emphasized the significance of the collaboration with BridgeAfric, highlighting AFRIMA’s dedication to empowering Africa’s creative industry.
“As AFRIMA, part of our mission is to build capacity and foster cross-border collaborations by providing platforms for artists to grow, collaborate, and break boundaries. Partnering with BridgeAfric for the Showbiz101 Global Workshop & Music Creation Camp is an extension of that vision. This initiative goes beyond music — it’s about equipping young creatives with the tools, knowledge, and global connections they need to thrive,” Niyi stated.
She further noted that the event aligns with AFRIMA’s seven pillars, which include Music Awards, Music Festivals, AFRIMA Creative Academy, Talent Discovery and Promotions, Music Business Hub, Advocacy, and Advisory & Policy Debates.
Victoria Nkong, President of BridgeAfric and an AFRIMA Associate Producer, stressed the workshop’s focus on educating and training emerging talents to strengthen the continent’s creative ecosystem.
“We believe learning is essential to addressing challenges in the entertainment industry. This workshop will empower young people with the skills and insights they need to succeed,” she said.
The five-day event will feature performances, hands-on training sessions, and a three-day Global Music Camp where top musicians will collaborate to produce a joint EP. Nkong revealed that prominent artists like Juma Jux (Tanzania), Nadia Nakai (South Africa), and DJ Neptune (Nigeria) will participate. Ivory Coast’s stars, including AFRIMA Award winner Didi B, Himra, Suspect 95, Kikimoteleba, Goulam, and Gabin Bao, will also be present.
Other industry leaders joining the event include Bizzle Osikoya, Co-founder of The Plug Entertainment, and Sesan Adeniji, General Manager of Vybz FM. From Algeria, DJ MohGreen will contribute his expertise, while Eric Bellamy from Live Nation Paris will offer insights into the global music market. International participants like Sonia Aimy (Canada) and Wendy Harawa (Malawi) will also attend.
Nkong also announced a Welcome Industry Party on Wednesday to kick off the event and officially receive the participants.
Registration for the workshop is free for music producers, songwriters, and artists interested in learning, networking, and advancing their music careers.
