The Sokoto State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, in collaboration with the State CARES Coordination Unit (SSCU), has organized a two-day capacity-building workshop for staff of the NG-CARES Programme to enhance their skills for effective service delivery.
Declaring the workshop open, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Zayyana, emphasized the importance of equipping NG-CARES personnel with the necessary knowledge to achieve the programme’s objectives. He urged participants to remain committed to their responsibilities, ensuring that vulnerable populations in the state fully benefit from the initiative.
Dr. Zayyana highlighted that the capacity-building effort aligns with Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s administration’s vision for economic growth and development, as outlined in the State Development Plan.
“This training is essential for improving the skills and efficiency of NG-CARES staff, enabling them to deliver quality service. I encourage all participants to apply the knowledge gained to enhance productivity,” he stated.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Maryam Ahmad Barade, reiterated the state government’s commitment to improving citizens’ livelihoods. She emphasized the need for collaboration and teamwork among all stakeholders to achieve the programme’s goals.
Earlier, the Head of the Sokoto State NG-CARES Coordination Unit, Alhaji Buhari Umar Musheshi, noted that the training aimed to review the programme’s implementation, identify challenges, and propose solutions. He commended the state government’s unwavering support, which has contributed to the successes recorded so far.
The workshop, attended by 45 NG-CARES staff, is expected to enhance service delivery and contribute to the state’s economic development.
