The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Joseph Utsev, has affirmed the importance of strict adherence to Local content policy in the production of water infrastructure to ensure its durability and sustainability.

He made this affirmation during a visit to a leading piping solutions manufacturing company, Panar Limited in Kano in Tuesday.

Highlighting Federal Government’s commitment to sustainable water projects nationwide, Prof. Utsev emphasized the need for high-quality materials to prevent project failures.

He called for collaboration with local manufacturers to promote superior goods and deter the use of substandard products.

He announced plans for inspections to enforce compliance with quality standards in water infrastructure across Nigeria.

He urged states, local governments, and private sector investors to prioritize local production of water infrastructure to prevent system failures, abandoned facilities, and the installation of water pipes that won’t withstand the test of time.

Commending Panar Ltd. for its adherence to National and International standards, particularly its flagship HDPE pressure pipe products, Prof. Utsev praised the company’s contributions to various projects across Nigeria.

In response, Shiv Daryani, Managing Director of Panar Ltd., expressed gratitude for the Minister’s recognition and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to quality and innovation.
