A prominent governorship aspirant in Yobe State, Barrister Kashim Musa Tumsah, has urged residents of the state to unite and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to continue in office beyond 2027.
Tumsah, a development advocate, made the call during a stakeholders’ meeting with his supporters drawn from across political parties, where discussions focused on the future of Yobe State following the completion of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s second term in 2027.
According to him, Yobe State has reached a critical stage in its political and developmental journey and must speak with one voice in support of national leadership continuity.
“Yobe has come of age, and we need to come together and speak with one voice, particularly in our support for the continuity of President Tinubu’s administration, which has given Nigerians a voice and set the stage for enhanced dividends of democracy,” he said.
Tumsah, who has dedicated over three decades to community development in Yobe State, particularly in rural areas, is widely known for his interventions in education, access to clean water, electricity provision, and economic empowerment initiatives.
His decision to join the race for the governorship seat followed what he described as unprecedented calls from across the state, urging him to venture into partisan politics to sustain what many residents have termed his “unmatched interventions” in human and community development.
The lawyer-turned-politician has continued to gain momentum, with growing endorsements from political leaders, elders, women, and youth groups across Yobe State, many of whom are rallying support for his bid to emerge as governor and lead the state from Government House, Damaturu, in 2027.
