Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, on Friday, led a distinguished delegation to attend the Juma’at prayer and the wedding Fatiha of Al-Ameen Farouk and Khadija Zubairu at the Central Mosque, Minna, Niger State.

The groom, Al-Ameen, is the son of former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Faruk Yahaya (rtd), while the bride, Khadija, is the daughter of former Ambassador Zubairu Dada, a respected elder statesman. Senator Wamakko, a political leader and elder statesman himself, stood in as the father of the groom during the solemn Islamic rites.

He was joined at the colourful event by several dignitaries including the Minister of Labour and Employment, Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi; Hon. Ahmad Kalambaina (Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency); Nasiru Shehu Bodinga (Bodinga/Dange-Shuni/Tureta Federal Constituency), and many others.

Also present were the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Idris Mohammed Gobir; Former Chief of Army Staff and Ambassador, Tukur Yusuf Buratai; former Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu; and the Emir of Minna, Umar Faruq Bahago.

Other top government officials included the Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, Muhammad Bello Sifawa; APC Chairman in Sokoto State, Sadiq Isah Achida; Chief of Staff to the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Dikko; several Commissioners, Local Government Chairmen, and Special Advisers from Sokoto State.

The high-profile ceremony drew a crowd of eminent personalities from across the country who came to celebrate the union of the two families.
