The National Universities Commission (NUC), has granted the Northwest University Sokoto (NWUS), a full operational license. The decision was conveyed through a letter dated August 14, 2025, signed BY the Acting Director of Inspection and Monitoring at NUC, Mrs. Lydia Imoroa, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu .
The formal letter, with reference NUC/ES/138/VOL/66.10, was addressed to the Vice Chancellor of Northwest University Sokoto. It recalled an assessment visit conducted from April 24 to April 27, 2025, during which NUC evaluated the institution’s compliance with operational guidelines throughout its three-year probationary period under the provisional licence .
