The vice presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Governor of Delta state, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has observed that Nigeria currently has leadership problem and its greatest spleen is insecurity.

Okowa stated this when he officials of the Northern South south Assembly Forum in Sokoto on Monday.

The Forum, led by Dr. Yusuf Abubakar Shinkafi is a support group for the Atiku/Okowa Presidency.

According Okowa, “Nigeria currently has leadership problem propelled by lack of inclusivity. If government is inclusive – where we are all together, you won’t talk about tribes or religion.

“The lack of inclusivity is what has bred insecurity. But we can go stronger if we move together.

“However, Nigeria today has failed to offer the people what it will take to make commitment. As a result, many don’t want to make commitment.

“We are today divided along religious, ethnic, and other lines. But division will help nobody.

“We need a government that is bent on fighting insecurity, and bring the people together. Everyone in Nigeria knows there is problem in the country and we must solve it.

“That is why the PDP is promising unity and that can be achieved. We are committed to change things in this country.

“When the people are hungry and you keep introducing policies that add to their hardship, you don’t mean well for the people. Consideration is required in good leadership,” the vice presidential candidate said.

While thanking members for their commitment, Okowa called on the Forum to extend its campaign to other people outside the South-south resident communities in the North.

Earlier speaking, Dr. Shinkafi told Okowa that the Forum has membership across the Northern states of the country.

He also said the Forum is committed to ensure the victory of the Atiku/Okowa Presidency through targeted campaigns in all nooks and crannies of the region.

“We have membership in the 29 states of the North. With you here are officials from the Northwest who are here to identify with you and pledge the Forum’s total support for the PDP’s victory at the forthcoming presidential election,” Dr. Shinkafi said.

Each officials each took turns to express their support to one of their own, Ifeanyi Okowa.
