The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has emphasized the importance of supporting the Nigerian military in its efforts to combat insecurity, highlighting peace as a fundamental requirement for national development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 45th International Trade Fair organized by the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KACCIMA), the Minister stated that improved security across the country would catalyze economic prosperity.

He reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace and stability, urging Nigerians to support the government through prayers and confidence in the security forces, whose dedication continues to yield positive results.

A Legacy of Promoting Economic Growth

As a former National President and now Lifetime National Vice President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Minister Badaru’s presence at the event underscores his deep connection to the business community and his dedication to fostering economic growth. His enduring relationship with KACCIMA highlights his commitment to advancing trade and industry, particularly in northern Nigeria.

The event drew a host of dignitaries, including representatives from the Office of the Vice President, the Governor of Kano State, and prominent business leaders from Nigeria and beyond. The trade fair serves as a vital platform for promoting economic cooperation, investment, and the diversification of Nigeria’s economy through non-oil exports.

Emphasis on Non-Oil Exports

Minister Badaru praised KACCIMA’s efforts in organizing the annual trade fair and emphasized the critical role such initiatives play in strengthening Nigeria’s economy. He called for increased collaboration among stakeholders to harness the country’s vast export potential, particularly in the non-oil sector, which is essential for achieving Nigeria’s economic diversification goals.

Kano as a Commercial Hub

The Minister’s participation at the trade fair highlights its importance as a driver of economic growth, innovation, and international business partnerships. The event positions Kano as a central hub for commerce and industry, reinforcing its strategic role in Nigeria’s economic landscape.
