A former campaigner for Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida’s presidential ambition, Lady Jemila Dorcas Sule, has launched a new political support group called the Coalition of Women for Tinubu 2027 (CW-for-Tinubu), aimed at rallying women across Nigeria behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

In a press statement dated June 21, 2025, Lady Sule announced that the coalition has already secured the support of over one million women from across the country’s six geopolitical zones. According to her, the group will be officially launched before the end of the year.

The coalition’s motto, “Total Support for Good Governance and Exemplary Service Delivery”, reflects its focus on highlighting what it describes as President Tinubu’s achievements in his first two years in office. These include segments of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway, the completion of over 440 road projects, the establishment of five regional development commissions (up from two), and social interventions like the ₦70,000 national minimum wage and student loan/grant schemes.

Lady Sule also pointed to recent federal responses to security challenges, particularly in Benue State, as evidence of Tinubu’s leadership capacity. “We have already got the assurance of President Tinubu that he will not disappoint Nigerians—and women in particular—if re-elected in 2027,” she said.

She further commended First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her efforts in empowering women and promoting rural development, describing her as a “voice of hope” for Nigerian women.

According to Lady Sule, the coalition plans to unveil a list of patrons and matrons in the coming weeks. These will include APC governors and notable philanthropists. She added that a world press conference would soon be held to outline the group’s roadmap and mobilization strategy for 2027.
