The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his consistent interventions and unwavering support for Nigerian students.
He made the remarks during the formal inauguration of the 2025 National Executive Members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja.
Speaking in his capacity as the Grand Patron of NANS, the Minister emphasized that Nigerian students remain deeply appreciative of the President’s steadfast commitment to youth empowerment, self-reliance, and national development.
He also applauded the resilience and determination of Nigerian students throughout the year, particularly during and after the NANS election period. While acknowledging the inevitable challenges that accompany such democratic processes, he stressed the importance of unity and collaboration among students to ensure the success of the newly elected leadership.
“I urge all aggrieved parties to set aside their differences, focus on the collective interests of Nigerian students, and support the new NANS executives in fulfilling their campaign promises,” he said.
The Minister concluded by once again expressing gratitude to President Tinubu and encouraging students to embrace unity, stating: “Let us remain united; united we are. Let us stand united, and the mission will be accomplished.”
