“Universal laws cannot be imposed. They are there, If you are in tune things go smoothly, if not, there will be friction”

– Sadhguru

The collective consciousness of a people as to what constitutes good or bad, right or wrong is the foundation of that societies strength or weakness. Every society is established on the basis of sound moral and ethical principles through which all activities regarding the healthy growth and development of such a society are reflected upon. Societies that do well are those societies whose founding principles are not only strongly upheld but also violation of such principles are greatly frowned upon, and strict sanctions are enforced to serve as an example of deterrence.

Throughout history we have learned in our schools and also read and heard from stories of individuals, groups, organizations and countries or regions of the world who stood the test of time in both historical, cultural and economic significance. Their stories are still relevant in every discussion of human progress and their works and legacy will echo in perpetuity. Such are people whose desires were not merely of accumulation of the material things of the world, but the accumulation of a well-articulated and well guided knowledge about the world and how to effectively run systems that serve the collective good of all.

The wisdom with which they applied in running the affairs of their societies derived from their deep knowledge about the basic and fundamental laws of human nature which are irrevocably the essence of successful operations of communities and nations are well integrated in every facet of their societies, through proactive engagement with the people whose lives depends on the choices and decisions they make, they always get to the bottom of every conceivable problem and solve them with ease in a way that satisfies the yearnings and aspirations of their people.

Ours is a time when the principles of successful operations of communities, societies and countries shrinks behind the shadows of unrighteous dealings and the wanton disregard of the basic laws governing human welfare and dignity. Such systems widely exemplifies a greater danger of entire human existence, they are systems that are operated based on the fallacies and mischiefs of incompetence and disregard for the honor and sense of pride of the citizens.

To best illustrate the ideas behind these descriptions, let us take the Nigerian nation and how leaders in the country are operating as a prime example. Ours is a country blessed with abundance, both in human and material resources, but ours is a country where the principles governing effective human existence are not upheld even when such are enshrined in the laws of the land. Indeed, there is no denying the fact that the entire world and in fact, the entire human existence follows a pattern that cannot be deviated from because to deviate means there is serious consequences attached.

We are living in a country and a governance system that has no regard whatsoever to the idea of human honor and dignity as an essential component for a successful human existence where all people regardless of religion, ethnicity, tribe and gender are given the fundamental right to exercise and test their human potential in the pursuit of a greater ideal and human identity. The very essence of our existence as a country is being violated by some few individuals whose primary desire is not the overall development of the human person, but the continues subjugation of the very people they represent in a way that strips them off of their honor and human dignity.

Such is the complete failure of leadership in our governments, offices, homes, schools, groups and associations. Such is the consequences of refusing to accept with utmost humility and gratitude the very guidance that nature offers for us to secure our better living, it is in violation of the essence of the universe itself and the ensuing consequences of such a reckless existence is a serious degradation in the moral and ethical structures of the people in a way that blinds them to see any solution regardless of how effective it is.

The remedy to such a disastrous living is through conscious acknowledgement of the follies, the acceptance of the responsibility to go back to the basics, the continuous effort to compliment and imbibe by the basic universal rulings for the natural order of things in a way that presents every human being with the opportunity to explore and realize their potentials for the collective good of the entire society and the larger world.
