The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) has formally disowned Mr. Farouk Rabiu Mudi and Mr. Haladu Yunusa, cautioning members of the association and the general public against recognising or dealing with them as national officers of the body.

In a notice issued after a general meeting of AFAN members and made available to this platform, the BoT stated that the duo are not recognised as President and General Secretary of AFAN, respectively, stressing that both individuals had been expelled from the association’s membership records.

According to the BoT, Farouk Rabiu Mudi and Haladu Yunusa were never sworn into office in any national capacity and therefore lack the authority to act or represent AFAN in any form. The trustees warned that any use of the association’s name, structures or bank accounts by the duo is without approval and endorsement of the Board.

“We, the registered Board of Trustees members of AFAN, do not recognise Farouk Rabiu Mudi and Haladu Yunusa as national officers of AFAN as President and General Secretary, respectively, as the two persons have been expelled from the membership records of AFAN,” the notice stated.

The BoT further advised members of the public to desist from any dealings with the two individuals, adding that the association would, in due course, conduct a formal transition process from the last known recognised national officers to a new executive leadership to oversee the affairs of AFAN.

The trustees also clarified that, in line with the AFAN constitution and in good conscience, the Board has no connection with the alleged leadership claims of Farouk Rabiu Mudi, Haladu Yunusa, or their purported executive committee members.

The notice was signed by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Vice Admiral Murtala Hammanyero Nyako (rtd), alongside Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and issued from the AFAN BoT office in Abuja.

The Board emphasised that the clarification was issued “to whom it may concern” in order to prevent confusion and protect the integrity of the association and its leadership structure.
