The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has honoured Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko (Sarkin Yamman Sokoto) with its Distinguished Service Award as the Forum marked its 25th Anniversary in Kaduna.
The award was presented during the ACF Silver Jubilee celebration held at the Musa Yar’adua Conference Hall, Murtala Muhammad Square, and attended by prominent political leaders, business figures and statesmen.
In his remarks, Senator Wamakko expressed appreciation to the ACF for the recognition, describing the award as “a historic honour” and a reflection of collective efforts toward societal development. He commended the Forum for consistently identifying and celebrating individuals dedicated to humanitarian and national service.
Other notable Nigerians honoured at the event included business mogul Aliko Dangote; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; and elder statesman General T.Y. Danjuma (rtd).
Dignitaries who graced the occasion included former Vice Presidents Arc. Namadi Sambo and Atiku Abubakar, as well as Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Hadiza Balarabe.
Lawmakers Ahmad Abdullahi Kalambaina and Sani Alhaji Yakubu Gudu congratulated Senator Wamakko, describing the award as well-deserved and encouraging leaders to emulate his example. Abdulrahman Adamu also joined in celebrating the senator’s achievements.
