Ecobank, the leading private pan-African financial services group renowned for its unmatched African expertise, has been named Best Bank in Africa 2025 in the prestigious Global Finance World’s Best Banks Awards. In addition, Ecobank Gambia and Ecobank Togo were each awarded Best Bank 2025 in their respective countries.

Jeremy Awori, Chief Executive Officer of Ecobank Group, stated:
“Driving intra-African trade is a key pillar of our Growth, Transformation and Returns strategy. We are leveraging technology and partnerships to scale our continental digital payments platform and to position Ecobank as the preferred trade bank for Africa. These awards are a testament to our unwavering commitment to placing customers at the heart of our operations, and to the strength of our comprehensive suite of financial solutions for global and regional corporates, financial institutions, and international organizations.”

He continued:
“Our deep expertise and integrated network across 35 African countries enable us to structure complex local and cross-border transactions. We drive impact across our markets through key product pillars including cash management, trade finance, fixed income, currencies and commodities, lending and liquidity, investment banking, and securities, wealth, and asset management.”

The Global Finance editorial team considered multiple criteria in selecting this year’s winners, including asset growth, profitability, geographic reach, strategic partnerships, innovation, and new business development. The selection process also involved input from equity and credit analysts, banking consultants, and senior corporate finance executives.

The awards will be officially presented to Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, Ecobank Gambia, and Ecobank Togo at the Global Finance Awards Ceremony, scheduled for 18 October 2025 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., during the IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings.
