Sokoto inaugurates technical working committee on governor’s 9-point agenda

The Sokoto State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning has inaugurated a Technical Working Committee to facilitate the implementation of Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s Nine-Point Agenda.

Inaugurating the committee, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Abubakar Mohammad Zayyana, emphasized that the initiative aims to enhance understanding of the governor’s vision and ensure effective policy implementation by relevant ministries.

Dr. Zayyana stated that the committee’s mandate includes:

  • Defining expected outcomes for each agenda point.
  • Identifying achievements recorded so far.
  • Recommending strategies for efficient execution.

He urged the committee members to work with dedication, assuring them of the ministry’s full support to ensure the success of their assignment.

The committee is chaired by Professor Abubakar Sabir Muhammad, with Sani Abdullahi, the Director of Planning at the ministry, serving as Secretary. Other members include:

  • Ibrahim Muhammad – Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Orientation.
  • Professor Abubakar Abdullahi – Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
  • Abubakar Bala Sokoto – Chief Corporate Services Officer, Backbone Connectivity Network Nigeria Limited.
  • Abdullahi Abdulrahman Shagari – Technical Assistant.
  • Buhari Umar Musheshi – Director of Budget, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.
  • Bello Shehu Gwadabawa – State Chairman, Coalition of Non-Governmental Organizations.

In his response, Professor Abubakar Sabir Muhammad expressed gratitude for the opportunity and assured the ministry of the committee’s commitment to achieving its objectives. He called on members to work diligently toward the successful implementation of the agenda.
