The Emir of Zuru, Mohammed Sani Sami, Gomo II, has described the Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, as a ‘Field General’ when it comes to security, and a person with a passion for work and a deep sympathy for the plight of the people.
The monarch made these assertions during a recent visit to his palace in Zuru by the Commissioner of Information and Culture of Kebbi State, Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi.
Throughout his remarks, the Emir was very kind in his summation of the achievements of Dr. Nasir Idris’s administration in just one year in office.
He said that even though the state had been governed by different governors who each addressed developmental challenges in their own way, none had confronted those challenges head-on as effectively as the incumbent governor, Dr. Nasir Idris.

“We are lucky to have a person with a passion for work, a person who is sympathetic to the plight of the people.
“Kebbi State had differenAt leaders who came and left, merely scratching the surface of our state’s problems. But Kauran Gwandu does not believe in that.
“He believes in confronting the challenges head-on. Look at what he has achieved in one year, which many could not achieve in eight years,” he emphasized.
Gomo further eulogized Dr. Idris as a focused planner who analyzes his plans to achieve optimum results.
“He sits down, analyzes, plans, and works to achieve results. This is good for a leader and is what a leader is supposed to do.
“Look at what he has done in the state capital: a lot of construction, the ultra-modern secretariat for the workers, and many other projects,” he said.
The Emir reiterated the steadfast support of the state’s traditional institutions, the civil service, the army, and paramilitary agencies for the governor, saying, “We are proud of him and we will continue to pray for his success.”

He called on the governor not to be distracted by detractors or naysayers as he is on course to take Kebbi State to the promised land.
On security, the royal father described it as unfortunate how his emirate found itself in the middle of the insecurity saga between Zamfara and Niger states, which claimed many lives and resulted in the loss of lives and destruction of property.
“This is an unfortunate development in my emirate. We are enveloped between the two trouble spots, Zamfara and Niger States.
“The spillover of criminals trying to find a haven run to Zuru Emirate for safety. That is the genesis of our security problem.”
He commended the governor for his prompt action in tackling the security situation in his emirate, which, according to him, restored peace and calm, allowing farmers who had previously fled due to bandit activities to return to their farmlands.
“The governor did not waste time. When he came into office, he immediately went into action. Farmers are back to their farms and many market businesses have picked up.
“I can say that the governor is working like a field general when it comes to security. He maps out strategies, and they are working,” he commended.
