The Shiroro Sports Forum (SSF) has congratulated its President, Ameenu Yakubu Mohammed, popularly known as “De Stopper,” on emerging as the Best Referee of the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 4 for the 2025/2026 season in Ikenne, Ogun State.

In a statement by the Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Abdullahi on Saturday, the forum described the award as a reflection of his discipline, professionalism, dedication, and commitment to excellence in football officiating.

SSF stated that the recognition has brought pride not only to Shiroro Local Government Area, but also to Niger State and the broader sports community.

As part of the NNL Super 4 fixtures held on May 8, 2026, Ameenu Yakubu Mohammed officiated the match between Sporting Lagos and Inter Lagos alongside other officials, including Walid Ibrahim Mohammed of Zamfara State as Assistant Referee I, Abdulwahab Jibril Lawal of Katsina State as Assistant Referee II, and Samuel Uzoigwe of Abia State as Fourth Official, while Peter Edibi served as Referee Assessor.

The forum noted that the achievement was a reward for hard work, integrity, consistency, and passion for sports development.

SSF also prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, wisdom, strength, and greater success for the award-winning referee.

“Congratulations once again to our own Ameenu Yakubu Mohammed ‘De Stopper,’” the statement added.
