Special prayers mark Wamakko’s 73rd birthday in Sokoto

Special prayers were on Friday held in five Jumu’at mosques across Sokoto metropolis to commemorate the 73rd birthday anniversary of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State.

The prayer sessions, organised by the Elders Association of Guiwa Low-Cost and its environs, took place at the Usman bin Affan Juma’at Mosque, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko Juma’at Mosque, Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Juma’at Mosque, Isa Wasagu Juma’at Mosque, and Sultan Muhammad Maccido Juma’at Mosque.

At the Usman bin Affan Juma’at Mosque in Gawon Nama, five Islamic scholars led special supplications shortly after the two raka’at Jumu’ah congregational prayers. The clerics prayed for Allah’s blessings upon Senator Wamakko as he turns 73, asking for good health, wisdom, and strength for continued service to the people and humanity.

They also sought divine protection and guidance for the former governor, praying that he continues to offer counsel and play a supportive, fatherly role to the administration of .

Prayers were equally offered for Governor Aliyu, with clerics asking Almighty Allah to guide and protect him in steering the affairs of Sokoto State. They further prayed for sustained peace and harmonious coexistence in the state and Nigeria at large.

The session at the Usman bin Affan Juma’at Mosque was attended by ; former Governor of old Sokoto State, Yahaya Abdulkarim; Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Tukur Bala Bodinga; Deputy Speaker Kabir Ibrahim Kware; members of the State Legislature; State APC Chairman, Isa Saddiq Achida; Secretary to the State Government, Muhammad Bello Sifawa; and Chief of Staff, Government House Sokoto, Aminu Haliru Dikko.

Others present included local government chairmen, commissioners, Chairman of the APC Elders Committee, Aminu Tambari Tafida; the new Baraden Wamakko, Alhaji Ahmed Barade; special advisers; senior special assistants; and other top government functionaries and party stakeholders.

Senator Wamakko will clock 73 on March 1. The government and people of Sokoto State wished the septuagenarian long life, prosperity, sound health, and continued wisdom in service to humanity.
